住まい手は、革職人として制作活動を行う奥様と、Webデザイナーとして情報や視覚を扱うご主人。
身体性の高い手仕事と、思考を重ねるデジタルワーク。
異なる性質の仕事が、同じ住まいの中で日常として交差しています。

奥様の作品には、個体数調整のために狩猟されたエゾシカの皮が用いられています。
生を終えた存在が、手仕事によって新たな形を与えられ、暮らしの中の道具へと生まれ変わる。
その営みは、生と死のあわいにある静かな循環を感じさせます。

敷地は街に近接しながら、背後には森の気配が広がります。
建物は、それぞれの風景を明確に分けるのではなく、視線や光の重なりによって緩やかに結びつけています。
仕事の時間と家庭の時間が交錯し、集中と安らぎが同時に存在する空間を目指しました。

室内では、強い光が差し込む場所と、影が落ち着きをもたらす場所を意図的につくり出しています。
時間帯や季節によって移ろう光と影が、素材や人の営みを静かに浮かび上がらせます。

相反するもの同士は、対立するのではなく、重なり合うことで新たな価値を生み出す。
「二景の家」は、日常に内在する矛盾や揺らぎをそのまま受け止め、
物や出来事が静かに、そして美しく輝くための住まいです。

The residents are a leather craft artist and a web designer.
One engages in highly tactile, physical making, while the other works in the digital realm, shaping information and visual experiences.
These contrasting modes of work intersect naturally within the same living environment.

The leather works are created using hides of Ezo deer that were hunted as part of population control efforts.
Through careful handcraft, a life that has ended is given a new form and returns to everyday life as a tool or object.
The house quietly embraces this cycle that exists between life and death.

The site is located close to the city, yet the presence of the forest extends just beyond it.
Rather than separating these two landscapes, the house gently overlaps them through light, views, and spatial composition, creating layered depth in daily life.
Moments of work and family life intertwine, allowing concentration and relaxation to coexist.

Inside the house, spaces of strong light and spaces of shadow were intentionally composed.
As light and shadow shift with the time of day and the changing seasons, materials and human activities are softly brought into focus.

Opposites do not necessarily conflict; when they overlap, they begin to generate new value.
Nikei no Ie is a home that accepts the inherent contradictions and fluctuations of everyday life, allowing objects and moments to quietly and beautifully come into their own.
