岩手県盛岡市の池のほとりに建つ住宅「湖畔の家」。白鳥が飛来する風景を望む敷地に計画した、湖の眺望を取り込む住まいです。

湖畔の家は、岩手県盛岡市にある桜の名所として知られる池のほとりに建つ住宅です。
この池には毎年多くの白鳥が飛来し、四季の風景がゆっくりと移り変わっていきます。

本計画では、この風景を日常の暮らしの中に取り込みながら、
周囲の視線やプライバシーにも配慮した空間構成を考えました。

大きな窓からは池と空の広がりを感じられる一方で、
生活の落ち着きを保つための距離感を丁寧に整えています。

また、建物の性能には北海道の住宅設計で培った考え方を取り入れ、
高い断熱性と気密性を確保し、安定した室内環境を実現しました。
冬の暖房効率を高めるとともに、夏の日射を抑える計画とすることで、
年間を通して快適に過ごせる住まいとしています。

“Lakeside House” is a residence located beside a pond in Morioka, Iwate, designed to capture views of the water and the seasonal landscape where swans gather.

The design aims to bring this surrounding landscape into everyday living while maintaining a comfortable sense of privacy within the home.

Large windows frame views of the pond and the open sky, while the spatial layout carefully balances openness with a calm living environment.

The house also incorporates building performance strategies developed in Hokkaido, including high levels of insulation and airtightness.
Efficient heating for winter and thoughtful solar control for summer help maintain a stable and comfortable indoor climate throughout the year.

敷地環境の特性

●南側: 池の眺望を楽しむ立地だが、通行人の多い道路がありプライバシー確保が課題。
●東側: 公園に面し、自然の美しさを取り込む。
●西側: 駐車場越しに奥羽山脈を望む絶景が広がる。
●気候: 冬の寒さと少雪、夏の暑さを考慮し、北海道と同等の断熱性能を採用しながら、暑さ対策を加味。

デザインの特徴
●遠景を望む池側の眺望を最大化しつつ、道路からの視線を遮るため、主要な生活空間を2階に配置。リビング・ダイニング・キッチンは池に向けて大きく跳ね出し、バルコニーを設けることで道路からの視界を遮りながら開放的で広がりのある空間を獲得させる。
●大きな庇による日射制御とともに、水平ラインを強調したデザインが遠景に美しく溶け込む効果を持つ。
●駐車場からの視界を遮る連続的な形態の壁が、プライバシーを守りながら奥羽山脈の眺望を引き立てる。また、西側からの水平に近い日射を適切に遮る機能を持たせてる。

設計哲学
ルイス・サリバンの言葉「形態は機能に従う（Form follows function）」を設計の基盤とし、敷地条件や住環境に応じた合理的な形態とする事を心がけた。結果として、「湖畔の家」は敷地の魅力を引き出し、都市景観に溶け込む美しい佇まいを実現した住宅となっています。

Site Environmental Characteristics

●South Side: While offering scenic views of the pond, the presence of a busy pedestrian road poses a challenge for ensuring privacy.
●East Side: Facing a park, it allows for incorporating the beauty of nature into the design.
●West Side: Offers breathtaking views of the Ou Mountains beyond the parking lot.
●Climate: Considering the cold winters with minimal snowfall and the summer heat, insulation comparable to Hokkaido standards was adopted, along with additional measures for heat mitigation.。

Design Features
● To maximize the view of the pond in the distance while blocking sightlines from the road, the primary living spaces are placed on the second floor. The living, dining, and kitchen areas extend outward toward the pond, featuring a balcony that not only shields the interior from the road but also creates an open and expansive space.
● The design emphasizes horizontal lines while incorporating large eaves for solar control, creating a harmonious integration with the distant landscape.
● A continuous wall structure blocks the view from the parking area, ensuring privacy while enhancing the scenic view of the Ōu Mountains. Additionally, it is designed to effectively shield the interior from the low-angle sunlight coming from the west.

Design Philosophy
The design is grounded in Louis Sullivan's principle that "form follows function," emphasizing the creation of rational forms tailored to site conditions and living environments. As a result, The Lakeside House draws out the unique charm of its location while seamlessly blending into the urban landscape, achieving a residence with both beauty and harmony.
