明確な用途の空間（箱）とその間の空間

建物の四隅には、それぞれ明確な用途をもつ四つの箱を配置しています。
寝室、水まわり、収納、ワークスペースなど、生活を支える機能を一つひとつ独立させることで、空間に落ち着いた輪郭を与えています。

その中心には、もう一つの要素としてキッチンエリアを据えました。
家の要となる場所として、四つの箱を緩やかにつなぎ、日々の暮らしの動線と視線が自然に交わる位置です。

そして、箱と箱のあいだに生まれる余白を、用途を限定しない自由でおおらかな空間として残しました。
そこでは、天候や季節、時間帯、その日の気分によって居場所が変わっていきます。
特別な使い方を決めなくても、住まい手が自然と身体を委ねられる余地が、暮らしに広がりをもたらします。

敷地や周囲の環境を丁寧に読み取り、内と外の関係性にも配慮しました。
閉じすぎず、開きすぎない距離感の中で、自然の気配が静かに室内へと入り込みます。

また、高い断熱性能と日射制御を基本とし、四季を通して穏やかな室内環境を実現しています。
設備に頼りすぎることなく、建築そのものの性能によって快適さを支えることで、長く安心して住み続けられる住まいを目指しました。

Clearly defined functional “boxes” and the spaces that emerge between them

At the four corners of the building, four boxes with clearly defined functions are arranged.
By separating essential living functions—such as the bedroom, wet areas, storage, and workspace—each element gains clarity, giving the overall space a calm and composed structure.

At the center, an additional element is placed: the kitchen area.
Positioned as the heart of the home, it gently connects the four boxes, becoming a place where daily circulation and lines of sight naturally intersect.

The spaces that emerge between these boxes are intentionally left as free and generous margins, without fixed functions.
Here, one’s place naturally shifts depending on the weather, the season, the time of day, or one’s mood.
Without prescribing specific uses, these spaces allow the residents to inhabit the house intuitively, bringing openness and richness to everyday life.

Careful consideration was also given to the site and its surrounding environment, shaping the relationship between inside and outside.
Neither too closed nor too open, the house maintains a balanced distance through which the presence of nature quietly enters the interior.

High thermal performance and thoughtful solar control form the foundation of the design, creating a stable and comfortable indoor environment throughout the year.
Rather than relying excessively on mechanical systems, comfort is achieved through the inherent performance of the architecture itself, aiming for a home that can be lived in with confidence and ease over the long term.
