敷地はマンションやアパートが建ち並ぶ都市の住宅地に位置する。
外部からの視線を制御しながら、いかに豊かな光を室内へ導くかが
本計画の主題となった。

ここでは、南面から直接光を取り込むことで空間を明るくするのではなく、
反射光によって空間を包み込む構成とした。

リビングの吹き抜け上部に設けた南面の窓には、
グリーンに着色した縦ルーバーを斜めに設置。
夕刻、差し込んだ光は一度バウンドし、
さらに障子へと映り込む。

紙の粒子によって拡散された光は厚みを帯び、
やわらかく室内を満たしていく。

光を制御することは、同時に陰を設計することでもある。
暗がりがあるからこそ、光は輪郭を持ち、
時間の移ろいを空間に刻む。

この住まいは、
明るさを追うのではなく、
静かな陰によって光を際立たせる建築である。

The site stands within an urban residential area lined with apartment buildings and condominiums.
The primary challenge was how to secure privacy while still creating a luminous interior environment.

Instead of relying on direct southern sunlight to brighten the space,
the design embraces reflected light as the principal medium.

At the top of the living room void, a south-facing window is fitted with diagonally placed vertical green louvers.
In the late afternoon, sunlight enters, bounces softly, and filters onto shoji screens.

Diffused by the fine fibers of the paper, the light gains thickness and warmth,
gently enveloping the interior.

To control light is simultaneously to design shadow.
It is the presence of darkness that gives light its edge,
allowing time and atmosphere to be quietly inscribed into space.

This house does not pursue brightness alone;
it seeks to let light resonate through carefully composed shadow.
