A House Between Motion and Stillness.

Located on a hill overlooking the city of Asahikawa in Hokkaido, this house is not merely about enjoying the view.

While the cityscape represents constant movement, the house embraces stillness—light, wind, and subtle natural phenomena.
It offers a place where time slows down amid a busy life.

Rather than maximizing panoramic views everywhere, the spatial composition creates a gradual transition from dynamic to static environments.

The side facing the city engages with the moving urban landscape.
As one moves inward, the spaces become increasingly private and calm, forming a gradient from motion to stillness.

Although the expansive exterior surface increased potential heat loss, thermal calculations were carefully conducted and insulation performance significantly enhanced.

The calculated Q-value is 1.095 kcal/㎡h℃, exceeding the next-generation energy standard of 1.4 kcal/㎡h℃.

This project demonstrates that spatial richness, structural integrity, and high thermal performance can coexist within a modest budget.
