幹線道路に面する立地であることから、車両騒音への対策が不可欠でした。
遮音性能と構造安定性を兼ね備えたRC（鉄筋コンクリート）造を採用し、
さらに外断熱とすることで、室内の温熱環境を長期的に安定させています。

RC造において内断熱とすればコストは抑えられますが、
断熱層の位置によっては内部結露を引き起こし、カビの発生リスクを伴います。
衛生管理が重要な医療施設において、その選択はあり得ません。
外断熱とすることで躯体を保護し、結露リスクを抑え、
安全で健全な室内環境を確保しました。

待合室の北側にはスリット窓と構造壁を設け、
直射日光ではなく、安定したやわらかな光で空間を満たしています。
一方、南側にはカフェのようにリラックスできるスペースを設け、
診療前後の時間を穏やかに過ごせる環境を整えました。

さらに、検査室や消毒コーナーにも、
2階の吹き抜けを通して自然光を導き、
機能空間でありながら閉塞感のない構成としています。

旭川の気候と立地条件に応答した、
患者とスタッフ双方にやさしい医療建築です。

Because the building faces a busy road, traffic noise was a significant concern.
Reinforced concrete (RC) construction was selected for its mass and superior sound insulation performance.
To further enhance indoor comfort, an external insulation system was adopted, stabilizing the building’s thermal environment throughout the year.

Although internal insulation in RC buildings can reduce construction costs, it places the dew point near the interior concrete surface, increasing the risk of internal condensation and mold growth.
Such risks are unacceptable in a healthcare facility.
By insulating externally, the concrete structure is protected, condensation risk is minimized, and a healthy indoor environment is ensured.

In the waiting area, slit windows and structural walls on the north side introduce soft, diffused daylight rather than direct glare.
On the south side, a café-like space allows patients to relax before or after their appointments.

Natural light is also drawn into examination and sterilization areas through a double-height void from the second floor, reducing any sense of enclosure and creating a gentle, uplifting atmosphere for both patients and staff.

By shielding noise, stabilizing temperature, and shaping light,
the building responds carefully to its site and climate—
offering a medical environment that is both highly functional and deeply humane.
