人がふと立ち止まり、呼吸を整えられる余白として設計しました。

建物は地域の交差点に面しています。
見通しの良さと安全性に配慮し、建物を道路からわずかに後退させ、
その前にベンチと緑を設けました。
通りに対して閉じるのではなく、
人がふと立ち止まり、呼吸を整えられる余白として計画しています。

カフェの内部では、「光」を重要な要素として扱いました。
入口脇にはコーナー窓を設け、自然光を柔らかく取り込みながらも、
室内には絵画が映える壁面を多く残しています。
外部からの視線を必要以上に取り込まないことで、
落ち着いた光の中で、食事とアートに向き合える空間としました。

構造体はあえて隠さず、素直に表しています。
柱や梁の存在がそのまま空間のリズムとなり、
無理のない構成が、自然と安心感を生み出します。
これは、装飾で取り繕うのではなく、
建物そのものの成り立ちを正直に伝えることで、
心と体に負担をかけない空間をつくりたいという考えからです。

間接照明と真鍮の鈍い光を重ねることで、
構造のラインはやわらかく浮かび上がり、
華美になりすぎない、落ち着いた奥行きのある雰囲気をつくり出しています。
「ココロとカラダによいもの」を大切にするカフェのコンセプトと同様に、
空間もまた、余計なものを足さず、
本質的な要素を丁寧に積み重ねることを意識しました。

美味しい食事やお茶、そして人との会話が、
自然と引き立つための背景としての建築。
ATELIER O2は、構造・光・素材を通して、
この場所に流れる時間を、静かに受け止める建築を目指しました。

It was designed as a quiet margin where people can briefly pause and breathe.

The building faces a local intersection.
To ensure clear sightlines and safety, the volume is set slightly back from the road,
creating a small forecourt with benches and greenery.
Rather than closing itself off from the street,
the space was designed as a gentle margin—
a place where people can pause for a moment and quietly catch their breath.

Inside the café, light is treated as a key architectural element.
A corner window near the entrance softly draws in natural daylight,
while generous wall surfaces are maintained to allow artwork to stand out.
By carefully limiting views from the outside,
the interior offers a calm atmosphere where visitors can focus on food and art
within softly moderated light.

The structural framework is intentionally left exposed and expressed honestly.
Columns and beams establish a natural rhythm within the space,
and this straightforward composition brings a quiet sense of stability and ease.
Rather than relying on decorative gestures,
the design communicates the building’s structure as it is—
reflecting a belief that honesty in architecture can create spaces
that are gentle on both body and mind.

Layers of indirect lighting and the subdued glow of brass accents
soften the lines of the structure and add depth without excess.
In the same way that the café values “things that are good for the heart and body,”
the architecture avoids unnecessary additions,
focusing instead on carefully assembling essential elements.

As a backdrop that allows good food, tea, and conversation
to naturally come forward,
ATELIER O2 approached this project as an architecture shaped by structure, light, and material—
one that quietly receives and holds the flow of time within this place.
