北海道札幌市手稲区の高台に建つ住宅「ユウコウの家」。石狩湾を望む風景を活かしながら、断熱性能と耐震性を高めて再構築したリフォーム住宅です。

ユウコウの家は、北海道札幌市手稲区の高台に建つ住宅です。
北東側には石狩の海を望む、恵まれた風景が広がっています。

しかし既存の住宅では、その眺望を十分に活かす空間構成や窓の配置にはなっていませんでした。
また、断熱性能や耐震性にも課題があり、暮らしの快適性と安全性の面で改善が求められていました。

本計画では、単に間取りや内装を整えるのではなく、
建物の性能そのものを見直すことから計画を始めています。

外皮性能を高める断熱改修を行い、
構造的に弱さが懸念される部分には補強を加えることで、
安心して長く住み続けられる住まいへと整えました。

また、窓の配置や空間構成を見直すことで、
石狩湾の広がりを日常の暮らしの中に取り込む住まいとしています。

風景を取り込みながら、同時に性能も高める。
意匠と性能のどちらかを優先するのではなく、その両立を丁寧に目指しました。

“Yuko House” is a renovated residence on a hillside in Teine, Sapporo, redesigned to capture views of Ishikari Bay while improving thermal performance and structural safety.

Yuko House is located on a hillside in Teine, Sapporo, with a view toward Ishikari Bay to the northeast.

However, the original design did not fully take advantage of this remarkable landscape through its spatial composition or window placement.
There were also concerns regarding insulation performance and structural safety.

The project therefore began not only with changes to the layout and interior design, but with a reconsideration of the building’s overall performance.

Thermal insulation of the building envelope was significantly improved, and structural reinforcements were added where necessary, allowing the house to support comfortable and safe living over the long term.

At the same time, the spatial composition and window placement were redesigned to bring the expansive landscape of Ishikari Bay into everyday life.

The goal was not to prioritize design over performance, or vice versa, but to carefully achieve a balance between the two —
framing the landscape while simultaneously enhancing the building’s fundamental performance.

リフォームで風景を取り入れた空間設計

リフォームではリビング、ダイニング、キッチンを2階の北東に配置し、外の景色を楽しむことができる空間としました。また、西側に位置する吹き抜けからは、反射光が優しく室内を包み込む設計としています。この光により、空間全体が温かみのある心地よい雰囲気に包まれます。

空間に合わせた素材選び
室内で使用する材料は、この優しい光に調和するように、落ち着いた色味や質感のものを選びました。これにより、全体的に空間が一体感を持ち、心地よい居住空間が完成しました。

丁寧なリフォームの積み重ね
リフォームは、既存のものを有効に活用しながら、丁寧に整えていく作業の積み重ねです。このプロセスによって、機能性と美しさを兼ね備えた住まいが実現されました。

Space Design Incorporating the Scenic View through Renovation

In the renovation, the living room, dining room, and kitchen were placed on the second floor to the northeast, creating a space where the outdoor scenery can be enjoyed. Additionally, the open space located to the west allows reflected light to gently envelop the interior. This light creates a warm, inviting atmosphere throughout the entire space. Additionally, the exterior insulation prevents internal condensation, ensuring clean and hygienic air quality—essential for a healthcare facility. This approach creates a comfortable space that benefits both patients and staff alike.

Material Selection Tailored to the Space
The materials used indoors were chosen to harmonize with the soft light, selecting those with calm colors and textures. This created a cohesive space, resulting in a comfortable and inviting living environment.

The Accumulation of a Careful Renovation Process
Renovation is the process of carefully refining and making effective use of existing elements. Through this process, a home that combines both functionality and beauty was achieved.
