A House Reached by a Bridge

Situated on a sloping site in Chuo Ward, the property lies lower than the road and required a two-car garage.

An RC garage was placed at the street level, with the wooden residential volume set further back.
The garage slab extends outward, forming a bridge that leads to the entrance.

This bridge is not merely circulation—it heightens anticipation as one approaches the home.

The reinforced concrete garage responds to the site’s level difference and parking requirements.
From this structure, a cantilevered slab extends like a bridge toward the wooden residence.

This architectural gesture transforms a functional necessity into an experiential sequence.

From the living room, distant mountain greenery becomes part of the interior composition.
The changing seasons wrap the space, enriching everyday life.
