札幌市中央区の住宅街に佇む、RC塀から建築へと変化する住まい

この住宅は、札幌市中央区の住宅街に位置し、周囲にはマンションが立ち並ぶ環境にあります。その中で唯一、西側には山の遠景が望める立地でした。数案のプランを経て、最終的にRC塀と建築が連続するデザインとなった。

RC塀が建築へと変化する、一体感のあるデザイン

この住まいの特徴は、単なる鉄筋コンクリートの塀ではなく、それが建物の外壁へと変化し、一体感を生み出している点にあります。塀として始まったコンクリートは、建物の壁へとなり、やがて開口部へ緩やかにつながるマテリアルとなっている。

山の遠景を切り取る窓が、外部と住まいをつなぐ

RCの外壁へと変化した先には、西側の山の遠景を望む窓を設けました。重厚な塀と開放的な窓の対比が、住まいに安心感と広がりをもたらし、周囲の景観とも調和します。都市の喧騒から離れた落ち着いた暮らしが、穏やかに街へとにじみ出るように考えました。

木の温もりと白を基調とした落ち着きのあるインテリア

外部の力強さとは対照的に、室内は木の素材感を活かし、白を基調とした明るくやさしい空間に仕上げています。堅牢なRCと対比することで、より一層、温もりのある住まいとして感じられるよう考えた。

This residence is located in a residential area of Sapporo City’s central district, surrounded by apartment buildings. Amid this urban setting, the west side uniquely offers a distant view of the mountains. After considering several design proposals, the final plan features a seamless transition between the RC wall and the architecture.

The defining feature of this residence is that the reinforced concrete wall is not merely a boundary but seamlessly transitions into the building’s exterior, creating a sense of unity. What begins as a wall gradually transforms into the structure itself, eventually becoming an opening that gently connects the interior and exterior.

A window framing the distant mountains serves as a bridge between the exterior and the home.

At the point where the RC wall transitions into the building’s exterior, a window was placed to frame the distant western mountains. The contrast between the solid wall and the open window brings both a sense of security and expansiveness to the home while harmonizing with the surrounding landscape. This design envisions a serene lifestyle that gently extends into the city, away from the bustle of urban life.

In contrast to the strength of the exterior, the interior makes use of natural wood materials and is finished with a light and gentle white color scheme. This contrast with the solid RC structure enhances the sense of warmth, making the home feel even more inviting.
